Messages policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Messages is Ignited Trades' team chat: direct messages, groups, channels and job chats between people in the same company. This policy applies to everyone who uses it, on the web and in the iPhone app, and is part of our Terms of Service.
1. What Messages is for
Messages is for talking with your team about work. You can only message people in your own company — never strangers or people at other companies.
2. The rules
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, hate speech or slurs.
- No sexual or violent content.
- No spam, and nothing illegal.
- Keep customer information on a need-to-know basis.
3. Reporting and blocking
- You can report any message from someone else. Reports go to your company's account owner and managers, who review them and can remove the message.
- You can block anyone. You won't see their messages or get notified about them, and they can't start a conversation with you. They aren't told.
- An automatic filter holds messages that contain slurs. A held message isn't shown to anyone else until your company's owner or a manager reviews it.
- Ignited Trades may remove content, or suspend accounts, that break these rules.
4. Who can read what
- Only the people in a conversation can read it. Your company's owner and managers can't read conversations they aren't in.
- When you report a message, a copy of that message (its text and photos) is shared with your company's reviewers.
- Edited and deleted text is kept on our servers and isn't shown in the app.
- Your company's account owner controls the company's account, including who is on the team.
